Is it heat tested?
The epoxy we use for countertops is different that our floor epoxy because it need to stand up to high heat whereas floors do not. This is because a special mix created by our chemists. It’s rated for up to 400 degrees without being affected. Even having this heat resistant coating on your counter tops and using hot pads on the surface to set hot items on.
Is it scratch resistant tested?
Our resin is created using the most refined high quality raw materials you can buy making it an industrial grade resin. After 24 hours our resin will be fully cured after 48 hours ready for daily use. After 7 days our resin will be fully cured making it the most scratch resistant epoxy on the market. When you add our high wear coat for added durability and scratch resistance, you will have the most durable surface that you can get with resins.
After the installation, do we have to wait before we start to use the area?
Yes, there is a waiting period before the area is usable again. Epoxy floors need 24 hours but we strongly suggest to wait 48 hours before moving heavy furniture on it. If you need assistance with more information about it, give us a call.
How long does the installation process take?
It all depends on the size of the space we are going to work on, and also varies by the choice of the floor material. It can demand from 1 day up to three days depending on the surface of the sub-floor and size of the job.
So I can park my car after waiting 48 hours?
Cars are extremely heavy, so we recommend to keep all vehicles away from the garage floor coating for a minimum of five days, allowing time for it to completely dry. If you bring any vehicle before this time, it will cause serious damage to the epoxy floor if wait time is not long enough.
Can Epoxy Floor Coating Be Used Outside?
Yes, generally epoxy floor coatings are not designed for exterior use in light colors due to ambering, however we have options that make this an excellent option such as using a 100 percent uv stable protector coat or we can make the floor in a different product we offer known as polyaspartic.
How Long Should You Wait to Apply Coating After Pouring Concrete?
Concrete needs to cure for several weeks before epoxy floor coating is applied. A good rule of thumb is to wait 30 days for each inch of concrete depth before treating the floor.
